Important Information for All Patients Attending the Clinic
- If you are male, please do not pass water/urinate for two hours before attending clinic, as this may make any tests carried out on your urine invalid.
- If you have not attended any of our services before, please try to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment so you can register at Reception.
- Although we aim to see patients at their appointment time, we also give all our patients the time they need in the clinic. This may mean that the clinic runs late and we would appreciate your understanding of this.
- As there may be there may be several sexual health clinics running at the same time patients may not be seen in the order in which you arrive at the clinic.
- If you are attending a walk-in clinic we will do our best to see you within one hour of your arrival at the clinic. However, this will depend on how busy the clinic is and so we recommend that patients should be prepared to wait for up to two hours from arrival.
- Patients attending a walk-in clinic should state why they are attending the clinic on the registration form when they arrive. This will help the staff at the clinic who is the most appropriate person for you to see. Please note that this may mean that patients are not seen in the order they arrive at the clinic.
- If you are attending a contraceptive walk-in clinic for a contraceptive IUD/IUS insertion or removal or for the contraceptive implant, it may not be possible for this to be fitted on the day you attend and you may be asked to return on a different day or to a outlying contraceptive clinic.
